Hello and welcome Diary of a Southern Millennial!
I’m a 20-something trying to make it through life. I was born and raised in southern Louisiana, graduated from LSU (geaux tigers!), and recently completed my master’s degree in Scotland (yes, Scotland) in Anatomy and Advanced Forensic Anthropology. Fancy right? Despite months of applying beforehand, I ended up returning to the states empty-handed in the job department. But I’ve managed to make it work.
After deciding not to go back to school right away to get my PhD, I switched gears a bit. I’m now currently a full-time administrative assistant while I pursue a career in real estate and flipping houses. I already have a successful flipping project under my belt and can’t wait to start another!
I am happily engaged, and have plenty of stories to keep you all thoroughly entertained and inspired (I hope)! I workout semi-regularily, love to cook, love to read, and I have a strange knack for organizing the heck out of anything.
About the Blog:
While I was in that in-between phase of being finished with school and figuring out what I was doing with my life, Diary of a Southern Millennial was born.
Being a millennial is tough in today’s world. Many of us are still stumbling around in the dark when it comes to figuring out our lives, and we barely have time to figure out what the heck we’re actually doing (myself included). My hope is that I can help with that – either by giving some advice, helping you do something, or sharing my crazy adventures through life.
Louisiana is known for being a “gumbo pot” of cultures for a reason – it’s a mix of a little bit of everything. And being a Louisiana native, that’s exactly what this blog is going to do! The goal is to provide my fellow millennials with the perfect balance of tips to get the hang of this adulting thing, while still providing you with a little mix of entertainment.
Because if there’s one thing Louisiana knows how to do it’s have a good time!
It’ll be the perfect mix of flavors (aka topics) to provide you with everything you need!
I’ve experienced and learned a lot in my 20-something years, and I hope to share that with all of you! At some point we’ll figure out this life thing, right? So get in touch!
I encourage anyone reading to get in touch, ask questions, or request a post about a specific topic. Don’t be shy! Let’s stay in touch! Comment or DM me on Instagram, tweet, stalk me on Facebook, send me an email, or subscribe below!
