Hello everyone! I’ve got quite a busy week ahead and have had a ton of stuff going on, so I thought I would fill you in with a Monday Catch Up!
First things first, I hope you all had a Happy Easter and wonderful weekend! I went home for the first time in about a month for Easter, so it was nice seeing the family and catching up. My younger sister made us breakfast, we had delicious BBQ and we just enjoyed the nice weather out on the patio. My mom even made me my own little Easter basket, despite the fact I’m in my 20s! I ended up chasing my mom’s chickens around so I could get one to get a picture with one of them (I snatched up Princess Leia who is surprisingly very photogenic!).
A few months ago, I found out one of my friends from graduate school is will be in New Orleans for a conference! If you read my Start Here page or My First Post!, then you know I attended grad school in Scotland. Since none of my fellow classmates are from Louisiana like me, I don’t really get the opportunity to see them. But one is coming down all the way from Canada, and I absolutely cannot freaking wait to show her around New Orleans! It’ll also be nice to catch up and see what she’s been up to since i saw her last!
I’m also really excited because my family happens to be having a huge crawfish boil this coming weekend, and I’m so happy I get to bring her along! If you follow me on Instagram, then you know it’ll be my second time having crawfish this week (and third time this month!), so I should probably watch it with all of the other high-sodium food this week!
Because I don’t live in New Orleans, I planned to stay a few nights there later this week to save myself the drive. Sadly my usual hotel – New Orleans Marriot – was super pricey (must be because of the conference), so I decided to get a place with AirBnB. Thankfully I found a super amazing one right in the French Quarter!
So I can’t wait to share about my trip with all of you next week! I’ll be dedicating all three of next week’s posts to New Orleans related topics. Where to stay, where to eat, and what to do (and more)! So be sure to check it out! Since my last New Orleans posts – Weekend in New Orleans and Twenty One Pilots and The Lumineers Concerts in New Orleans – were pretty popular, I have no doubt they’ll go over well with all of you!
But because I’ll be a bit preoccupied this week in New Orleans, I have an easy week of blog posts lined up. But I’ll be getting right back into it next week with everything New Orleans, and will be going with a cooking theme for the following week. So if you want to gather a few easy recipes for 1 and learn a few cooking basics then be sure to check it out! I’ll also be sending an exclusive guide on how to make your very own chalkboard menu board to my subscribers, so if you’re interested be sure to subscribe below so you don’t miss it! I hope you enjoyed this little catch up!
How was your Easter weekend? Have any big plans for this week? I’d love to hear about them!
