Whether you have a bullet journal or a bullet planner like me, you’ll need a few things to keep it beautiful! Here’s my list of must-have supplies!
1) The Planner
If you read my How To Set Up A Bullet Planner post, then you know I prefer my refillable Webster’s Pages A5 planner to a traditional bullet journal. I love how I can customize ever aspect of my planner and be able to re-use it! Webster’s Pages has a ton of color and size options, and you can still get my exact planner kit here!
2) Awesome Pens
I have two sets of pens – one for writing and one for doodling. For all my writing, I use my Pilot G-2 Retractable Gel Ink Rollerball Pens (a mouth-full I know). They are my absolutely favorite pen to write with, and they come in a ton of colors! Plus, you can actually buy the ink inserts and reuse the pen!
For all of my doodling and coloring needs, I prefer my Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens. After using them for a while now, I totally understand why people are constantly raving about them. The colors are amazing, they are comfortable in the hand, and their fine point is perfect for all your bullet journaling needs!
If you read my Weekly Planner Setup post from earlier this week, you can see that I use highlighters to color code all of my tasks. Of all the highlighters I’ve used, I prefer my Sharpie Highlighters. I don’t like retractable highlighters all that much (I find they dry out), and I wanted more than just the usual colors. These Sharpie Highlighters are perfect- they come in a variety of vibrant colors and they don’t dry out!
4) Pencil Case
You’ll definitely need something to put all of your pens and highlighters in, so a good pencil case is a must! I actually have two – one that matches my planner and holds my highlighters, white-out, tab dividers, extra pens for writing and a pencil. The other holds all of my Staedtler pens.
5) Dividers (for a bullet planner)
Like I mentioned before, I use a bullet planner rather than a bullet journal. This means I need sections for all of my stuff! In addition to a normal weekly/monthly calendar section, I also have Tracking, Lists, Info, Meal Planning, and House Flipping sections. I use these Chris Wang Dividers and wrote out my own section titles.
6) Paper (for a bullet planner)
If you buy a bullet journal, you’re stuck with one kind of paper – lined, grid, or dot grid. With my bullet planner, I have the option to use whatever kind I want! I actually use a mix of lined and grid, and went with Miliko A5 Planner/Organizer Refills. This particular brand has listings for all three types of paper, and it’s just thick enough for ink not to bleed through, even with heavy doodling!
7) Fun Accessories
This is where you can really make your planner or journal your own! You can use washi tape, stamps, stickers – the possibilities are endless! Because I blog and need to keep track of a lot of social media stuff, I have these adorable little social media stamps that I got from etchythings on Etsy. I absolutely love them, and they arrived so quick despite coming from Canada! The shop owners also do custom orders, so if you need some cool logo stamps, definitely check them out!
