By now, we all know how important a little self-care is. I don’t know about you, but a little self-care goes a long way to boost my mood and recharge my (very introverted) batteries! And while most days I’m completely content with ordering a pizza (and eating it all by myself) while I read a good book or binge-watch some TV, some days I want to pamper myself a little.

Now, if you’ve followed me for a while on either Twitter or Instagram, then you might have noticed I love Lush. Like a lot. And honestly, what’s not to love when their products are amazing, cruelty-free, handmade, and all of their ingredients are ethically sourced? Plus their customer service is amazing. The minute you walk in to a store, you are greeted by workers wanting to help. Which I know can be a little annoying for those of us who hate being approached by workers *cough* ME *cough*, it’s great when you need something in particular and don’t know where to start looking. Because I’m sure I’m not the only one who walks in wanting a particular thing, only to get distracted as heck by all the colors/smells.
The workers are always kind, friendly, and knowledgeable about the products, and are more than happy to help you while you are shopping. Which (again) is great if you’re looking for a particular product, or if you might not know the name of something, or are trying to find something new to try. I generally do one big “haul” online to stock up on bath bombs so that I always have some on hand, but make a trip to the store for masks or if I want to check out new products.
If you haven’t tried a bath bomb yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR. Do it! Seriously, bath game changer! My usual go-tos are The Experimenter, Sex Bomb, Over and Over (which I used just this week for all my Instagram followers!), Frozen, and Blackberry.
If you’re looking for something for a bubble bath, Lush has got you covered there too. I personally prefer their bubble bars over regular bubble bath, and absolutely love Brightside and The Comforter.
And of course while you’re soaking, you might as well treat the skin on your face too! Lush’s Don’t Look At Me mask is hands-down my absolutely favorite. It smells like fruit loops, leaves my skin looking amazing, and did I mention it smells like fruit loops?!?! The only downside? It isn’t one of their self-preserving masks, so it has to be kept refrigerated and is only good for a week or so. Which means I have to go to the actual store to get it, and it typically sells out fast. But my close second/third options are the Mask of Magnaminty (self-preserving) which leaves you skin feeling tingly and fresh and the Cup O’ Coffee which smells just like a cup of coffee!
And I don’t know about you, but I love to read a good book while I’m soaking. Personally, I always reach for my Kindle Voyage. While I still love my actual books, I honestly go through them so fast that I run out of space, and it gets really expensive really fast. Generally e-books are cheaper than the actual printed version, plus I can download them instantly which means I don’t have to wait for a new one! Plus, since I treated myself to a Kindle Unlimited subscription a few months ago, I have saved sooooo much money on books every month. One of my favorite authors (Laura Thalassa) has all of her books on Unlimited, and I can read as many magazines, cookbooks, and even listen to some audiobooks for $10/month. Seeing that I go through at least 2 books a month (which would retail anywhere from $5-10 each), and love to cook (and cookbooks are not cheap) I’m saving myself a good bit of money!
What do you like for self-care Sunday? Are you obsessed with Lush like me?
