Yet another month, and yet another Currently Loving post! Has anyone else felt like September has FLOWN by? I mean, August felt like it went by at a snails pace, and now all of a sudden it’s September 21?! What is happening? September is my absolute favorite month out of the entire year, so figures it would fly by! Either way, check out what I’ve been loving since last month!
Taking Some Time For Myself
If you’re a regular reader, then you probably noticed I took a few days off of blogging just like I did last month. My day job has been crazy busy lately, making blogging much more difficult than it used to be. To top it off, I’ve also been in a little bit of a funk – even though I have my content calendar up to the end of September, I honestly just haven’t been feeling inspired to write a post. I’ll sit down, just to criticize myself with stuff like “no one cares, why even bother?” or “no one wants to read about this”. And frankly it’s getting tough constantly telling myself to shut the hell up.

So I’ve been posting on my regular days, but skipping a day every now and then just to give myself a break. I’m really hoping to get out of this funk soon, so if you have any tips, send them my way!
I mentioned last month that after being engaged for over 2 years now, the wedding is (FINALLY) about a year away (in late September of 2018). Which means we actually have to start planning! Since last month, we booked a photographer and this past weekend I found my dress!!! I am not a huge shopper, so I was thrilled that I found the most amazingly perfect dress in the first place I went to. Prepare yourselves – there is a lot of praise for the bridal salon coming! It was so much fun trying on dresses and having everyone there, and the staff at I Do Bridal Couture here in Baton Rouge certainly know how to make it an experience.
We were greeted with champagne right when we walked in, and after they got us situated on the couch, a consultant and the owner helped me look around. I found out that the owner hand picks each and every dress that is at the store too, which was pretty darn cool and definitely something you don’t see/hear about every day! And I even got to get “glammed up” with earrings, veil, and bouquet when I finally found the one (just like on TV!). I had such a wonderful time and I seriously can’t thank the ladies at I Do enough for how well they treated us.
They thankfully let me take a few pictures of me in the dress, and I wish I could show them to you! It’s a beautiful trumpet-style gown with a lace overlay, sweetheart neckline with illusion straps, low back, and BUTTONS. I also picked up a gorgeous heirloom-quality veil and a beaded belt. Talk about feeling like a princess!

My birthday was on Monday, which means I’ve been a whole 24 years old for a few days. Does it feel any different that 23? No. Does it make me feel better about that gray hair I found on my head? Slightly.
Thankfully my sister and I have tickets to see Jon Bellion again in concert later this week, and I am PUMPED. I am so excited to see him in concert again (one because he’s hot, and two I like his music). Plus it’ll be nice to have a little weekend away with my sister which is always fun!
I mentioned this in last month’s post as well, but I am seriously loving it! Since last month’s post, I’ve gotten a few orders trickling in, which is so great to see. I finished up this beauty last night, and while it took me a good long while to get it right, I’m so happy with how it turned out!
It’s looking like that sprucing up I did to my Etsy shop really paid off, so I’m excited to finish up to photo re-takes and look into adding some new listings. I’m especially excited to do something with all of these babies:

I have been KILLING it lately with my reading game you guys! So far for September, I’ve made it through 5 books and am currently working on my 6th. I guess that’s what happens when you run out of stuff to watch on Netflix…
Needless to say, I am definitely getting my money’s worth with my Kindle and my Kindle Unlimited subscription. As much as I love hard copies of books, space and money are an issue. Not to mention if I finish a book in a series, I can get the next one instantly without having to go anywhere!
Health and Beauty
Not only have I been making it to the gym again (thank goodness!), I’ve also been changing up my skincare and beauty routine. A few months ago, I got the Paraguard IUD (the copper one!) inserted and got off regular hormonal birth control. Which has been absolutely great, but my body is still adjusting to not having those hormones. Which means my skin is completely out of whack. I never used to suffer from skin or acne problems as a teenager, but all of a sudden I’m having breakouts and dry skin like crazy. My hair/scalp are also doing weird things, so it’s been quite a fun *read shitty* time figuring out how to handle it all.
Thankfully the store I frequently talk about – Lush – saved the day! We all know I absolutely LOVE Lush, so they’re usually my go-to place when I need something with fancy ingredients. I recently read that jojoba oil was great for your hair, so I went on the hunt for any products with it. I found this shampoo, and so far it has done wonders for my hair! They also had a ton of hair masks with that same oil, so I will definitely be checking those out soon too.

And finally, I managed to find a new dry shampoo! I’ve tried a handful now, and honestly haven’t been happy with any of them. They leave a ridiculous amount of residue, are usually over-perfumed, and dry the heck out of my scalp. So when Influenster sent me this one from Bumble and Bumble to try out, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical. But turns out this is the holy grail of dry shampoos. I can literally spray out the entire canister onto my head and there isn’t that gross white residue, it’s very lightly scented, and has UV filters in it to protect your hair. I’ve already ordered another since the first is now almost out.
